Privacy policy

Last updated: May 21, 2026

Doxa - Pocket MD (“the App”) is published by Aretix, a Christian software company. The App is designed for worship teams to manage song sets, display PDF charts, and send live visual cues between devices. This policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.

Summary

  • No account required. We do not operate a login or user registration system.
  • No cloud storage. Your songs, PDF charts, sets, and custom cues are stored locally on your device.
  • No analytics or advertising. The App does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking for marketing purposes.
  • Local network only for Live Cue. When you use Live Cue, cue messages are sent directly between devices on your local Wi‑Fi using Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework. This data is not transmitted to Doxa or other servers.

Information stored on your device

The App stores the following locally on your iPhone or iPad:

  • Song titles, artists, keys, and rehearsal notes
  • Set lists and their song order
  • PDF chord charts you import
  • Custom cue presets (labels, colors, icons)
  • Live Cue preferences (e.g. Music Director or Band Member role)
  • Band member display name and instrument (entered by you on the Band Member screen)

This data remains on your device unless you delete the App or remove items within the App. We do not have access to your library or PDF files.

Share extension

The App includes a Share extension that lets you assign a PDF from another app to a song in your library. To do this, a list of song titles and identifiers is shared between the main App and the extension through an Apple App Group container on your device. PDFs staged for import are temporarily stored in that same on-device container until the main App completes the import.

Live Cue and local network

When the music director hosts a Live Cue session, the App advertises and browses for peers on your local network using Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity and Bonjour services. Connected devices exchange:

  • Device display names (e.g. “Dan’s iPhone”)
  • Band member name and instrument (if provided)
  • Cue messages (section labels, song title context, timestamps)

Communications are encrypted in transit by Apple’s operating system. Cue data is not routed through Doxa servers. Only devices on the same local network that join your session can receive cues.

iOS may ask for permission to access the local network. This permission is required for Live Cue to discover other devices. You can deny it, but Live Cue will not work.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, sell, or share:

  • Personal contact information through the App
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics
  • Your PDF charts or song library contents
  • Live Cue session contents on our servers (we operate no such servers for this App)

Chart copyright

You are solely responsible for obtaining and using PDF chord charts, lyrics, and arrangements in compliance with copyright and licensing laws. The App provides storage and display tools only; it does not supply licensed charts except for bundled public-domain sample hymns included for demonstration.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention and deletion

All App data is deleted when you remove the App from your device, except for any files your device backup may retain according to your iCloud or iTunes backup settings. You can delete individual songs, PDFs, and sets within the App at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
